West Canadian Launches Social Distancing Signage Program for Retailers
Program Will Donate 10% of Proceeds to the United Way in Support of Vulnerable Canadians Affected by COVID-19
As the global health crisis with COVID-19 continues to evolve, retailers and essential services providers are looking for ways to protect their customers and enforce social distancing practices. At West Canadian, this need has led to a sudden increase in demand for retail signage that promotes the hygienic practices recommended by governments.
According to the Government of Canada, social distancing is key to helping reduce the spread of COVID-19. While health officials recommend "avoiding crowded places and non-essential gatherings," many common public places, including healthcare facilities, banks, grocers, liquor stores, gas stations, takeout restaurants and others, remain operational to meet the everyday needs of consumers.
While these businesses remain open, there is a heightened awareness of what it means to be socially responsible during these uncertain times. For many organizations, this has led to notifying customers of important and frequent changes to service, providing clear communication about hygienic practices, and enforcing strict social distancing policies in their walk-in locations.

West Canadian will be donating 10% of the proceeds from the sales of their Social Distancing Signage Program to the United Way in support of their COVID-19 Community Response Fund. The fund was set up in collaboration with The City of Calgary (including the Calgary Emergency Management Agency), and United Way of Calgary and Area, to support community agencies who are working diligently to keep Calgarians safe and well.
